What is the ASA School of the Year Award About?
We are one of the over 255 members schools within the American Sailing Association. All member schools have carefully investigated National certification options and have decided that the ASA and its certifications, recognitions, policies and qualities are second to none.

The ASA, in order to promote excellence in education and to oversee the quality of each member school, surveys each certified student. The student, on a voluntary basis, completes a questionnaire and mails it directly back to the ASA where the responses are assessed, both qualitatively and, quantitatively using a nationwide rating scheme. Even when the ASA revamped the rating system to include other schools, the quality of our instruction shined throughout. The responses to the ASA are used to ->

1. Ascertain that the Facility is adhering to prescribed ASA curriculum, standards and policies;
2. Designate the superior schools as School of the Year; and to
3. Identify and recognize the outstanding instructors as Instructor of the Year

Why did we earned the most ASA School and Instructor awards for 10 years?
Simply stated, we are a humble but proud company dedicated to delivering sailing instruction at the highest level of quality. We are a family. No matter how the ASA looked at the results, the NJSS remained on the top of the list. The students love what we are doing!

Why has this phenomenal success been so consistent over all these years?
• We Love our Students (really!)
• We are More than a Sailing School, we are a Marine Education Center
